What is it like for Christians in China? The Voice of the Martyrs use this fictional story to pass on important information about the state of Christian persecution in China. Abbey, a Christian American teen visiting China, becomes an unwitting agent of the Chinese Secret Police when she invites herself to a secret church meeting and then talks about it around the wrong people. Her careless talk exposes the church's bible smuggling activities and gets the pastor arrested. Will Abbey be able to undo the damage she has done?
Now China is a huge country, so not all the Christians in that country face the sort of persecution presented in this film. But many do, and they should be remembered in our prayers. While the actors in this short video won't be winning Academy Awards any time soon (the acting is about as bad as acting can get) the presentation is still a compelling one, good for children and younger teens. Some parents and teachers may also learn quite a lot.
